The annual Moonshine Festival was held this weekend in Dawsonville, Georgia. This years event was very large and stretched from the Dawsonville City Hall east of the city all the way to the west side of the town past the old county courthouse.
Thousands of people attended this years event. Many folks brought their entire family to enjoy the sunny day and mild temperatures. The city police rerouted traffic flow around the city and there was plenty of parking to handle the visitors. Overall a very festive day.
To the side of the courthouse in the center of town were rides for the children. Along the entire route you could find vendors selling food and drink. Vendors had everything from auto parts to T-shirts for the crowds.
There was entertainment as well with several musicians along the way. A group of country line dancers show their fancy footwork off to the crowd of visitors.
Many visitors came to see the large number of vintage automobiles as well as race cars that were along the way.
This area of Georgia is known for their race car production. This business was started in the early days when the moonshiners build cars to transport their products and outrun the revenuers. The featured vintage cars looked as if they had just arrived to the showroom floors. Both adults and children found something they liked in these displays.
