Snow in Georgia? Print E-mail

Snow in Georgia

It always seems to surprise visitors to our state that at least part of Georgia will see snow as part of our winter weather. North Georgia generally experiences snow one day of the year each winter. This year was no different.

Of course, you better your chances if you live in the North Georgia Mountain areas. Just last year (Feb 2006) we experienced this condition at least once. It usually lasts a day or possibly two with the schools closed and the kids at home for the day. Parents will often stay home too in order to keep the traffic low in the area and of course watch the kids. We all know that the next day the weather will most likely be back to normal conditions for this time of year!
