Police and rescue units responded Thursday afternoon to a two car accident three miles west of Cleveland on highway 115. The accident occured at 5:25 pm. Local drivers passing by as well as local residents provided assistance to the occupants of the two vehicles. 911 emergency services was called by multiple people. The local police arrived 14 minutes later and found all occupants had exited their vehicles and were waiting for the arrival of emergency vehicles.
One car was litterally rips in two pieces during the accident with the
rear of the car coming to rest 50 feet behind the front of the car. The picture above shows the rear of the car on the left and the front in the upper right.
People driving by stopped expecting to find fatal injuries. At least
two of the injured were children.
One policeman commented that all parties were lucky to have survived
the accident. While emergency services checked those people involved in the accident, traffic was rerouted around the area and those cars that stopped
to assist were provided alternate routes to their destinations.
