5th RTB Open House Print E-mail
Monday, 14 May 2007

Once a year the public has an opportunity of an inside look at the training that goes on the rest of the year at Camp Frank D. Merrill just west of Dahlonega. Located in the north Georgia mountains, this has to be one of the most impressive military shows open to the public.

There was a large crowd of people in attendance, many with children, and they did not leave the camp dissapointed. Open between 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, the 5th Ranger demonstrated their professional skills up close and personal to the crowd of thousands. The airfield was the site of the most exciting events of the day with Blackhawk helicopters flying in low over the crowds and 5th Rangers demonstrating the advance mountain skills they learn at this camp.

You can't help but be impressed by the skills of the 5th Ranger. The sights and sounds of this day will certainly leave a lasting memories to the crowd. What a great way to spend a weekend day with the family! A brief video of some of the day's events is included below. If you missed this open house this year, put it on your family schedule for next year.

Prop wash from the helecopters give the crowds that up close and personal feeling as the 5th Rangers demonstrate their advance mountain skills. Both children and adults will have an exciting day at the Camp Frank D. Merrill Open House.
