Falcons Training Starts With Protests Print E-mail
Thursday, 19 July 2007

This week the Atlanta Falcon's season training began. Thursday their doors opened to the public in Flowery Branch, Georgia, as the public were invited to their annual open house. Thousands of advid Falcon fans came to see their team practice. With temperatures in the mid-80's, fans lined the hill overlooking the practice field.

Outside the gates of the Falcon training complex, a different crowd lined the streets as protestors let their feelings be known. 600 miles north of the training camp in Virginia, the team's star quarterback, Michael Vick, was absent from the training camp and in court for an arrainment for dogfighting charges. Vick was responding to an indictment linked to his home in Virginia.

Video included with story

Back in Flowery Branch, the team practices in the summer heat with their star quarterback missing the opening day of practice. For those football players, it's a new season getting underway and they must get ready. The team still has very strong support from their fans.

Outside the gates, it's a different story for the protesters. Michael Vick's court date has been set for November.
