About 15 miles east of Gainesville, Georgia on HWY 323 is the town of Gillsville, Georgia. Each year they host the "Turning & Burning Old Time Festival". It is amazing to see thousands of people step back in time for a day of family recreation.

In one area of the festival they have one of the largest collections of antique farm equipment seen in one location. Almost all of it in working condition and much of it looking as if it came right off the storeroom floor. Throughout this area you can see what life in the early part of the 1900s was like for farmers in the area.

There are many tents setup to feed the crowds both body and mind. Church groups feed the crowds with delicacies like homemade ice cream and the usual foods found at festivals.

Many visitors come to this town to see relatives and enjoy the day of fun. It is remarkable to see so many people meet in a very small Georgia town for such a grand event, but everyone is certain to have fun!
